Korba, June 26, 2024: The National Youth Forum for Rovers and Rangers commenced today at CIPET, Education Hub, Syahimudi, Korba, Chhattisgarh, and will continue until June 30, 2024. The forum aims to engage young people in various activities, providing a platform for youth involvement and representation. It allows participants to voice their interests and suggest meaningful changes for the organization.
The first day began with the arrival and registration of participants, who were warmly welcomed by the Chhattisgarh state dressed in traditional attire.
Participants from Chhattisgarh and eight other states received camp kits from Chhattisgarh’s State Chief Commissioner, Mr. Somnath Yadav, marking a memorable moment.
After lunch, flag ceremony took place, and participants were divided into 23 working groups to enhance discussion outcomes through diverse perspectives.
The opening ceremony, led by Ms. Shivangi Saxena, featured distinguished guests including Katghora MLA Honorable Prem Chandra Patel and guest of honor State Chief Commissioner Dr. Somnath Yadav, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Sambit Mishra, ACB India GM Captain A.K. Singh, District Education Officer Mr. T.P. Upadhyay, and Principals Mr. Vivek Lande and Mr. Sanjay Gupta.
The ceremony commenced with the lightining of the lamp, followed by captivating cultural performances, including Rajasthan’s Ghoomar dance and Chhattisgarh’s Suva and Karma Panthi dances. The guests then addressed the participants, extending their best wishes for the forum’s success.
A session on the forum’s objectives dealt by Mr. Sharath Raj, followed by a session on the fundamentals of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, presented by Ms. Shivangi Saxena. Planning team members Ashwin, Shreya and Shivam explained about the formation and roles of the Recommendation Committee.
The day concluded with a well-received dinner and a meeting of unit leaders and staff. Thus, the first day of the National Youth Forum ended on a high note, fostering connections and enriching experiences for all participants.
